Frequently asked questions

Gravity really does vary: it is weaker at the equator and at altitude, and stronger near the poles. Your phone’s sensor also has a small factory offset. Run Settings → Calibrate sensor with the phone flat on a level table to remove most of it.

On the Live screen tap “Tare · zero”. Axilo stores the current reading as zero and switches to Relative mode. Tap Absolute to go back to raw values.

Axilo only shows tools your hardware supports. Many phones have no barometer, and iPhone and iPad give apps no access to the ambient light sensor, so the light meter is Android-only.

Phone microphones are designed for speech, so readings are typically within ±2–3 dB of a calibrated meter between about 40 and 100 dB. Use it for guidance, not occupational compliance. Remove thick cases and point the microphone at the source.

Move away from metal, magnets and electronics, then tap Calibrate and move your phone in a slow figure-8. Turn on True north if you need geographic north rather than magnetic north.

GPS speed is usually within 1–2 km/h in open sky, but it lags in tunnels and cities. Always use your vehicle’s speedometer, and never handle your phone while driving.

Spectrum & tuner, the magnetic field meter, unlimited history, CSV export, share cards, seismograph mode, 400 Hz sampling and calibration profiles. The free version stays ad-free.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. Use the “Manage subscription” links above. Refunds are handled by the store: on iOS go to reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, request one in Google Play order history.

Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account, open Axilo → Settings → Axilo Pro, and tap Restore purchase.

No. Sound is analysed live on your device to calculate level and pitch, and is never saved or sent anywhere.

Only on your device. Swipe a session in History to delete it, or delete the app to remove everything. We hold no copy. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Location is used only while the Speedometer or true-north Compass is open, and it never leaves your phone.

Reporting a problem?

Please include your device model, OS version, Axilo version (Settings → About) and which tool you were using. A screenshot or exported CSV helps us find the issue faster.
